The Arena
The arena surrounds you, like it or not
Seems all eyes are upon you, but they aren’t
Your 360 degrees of self-critique is all that’s here
All else is a culmination of grandiose illusions
Fanned by fandom and influencer hype
Nobody cares what you’re doing
So do it more
Wildly
Unbashfully
Disgracefully
Fling open the doors of decorum and stomp into the arena
Loud and proud
Silent and shroud’d in mystery
Announce to the emptiness i AM
All
Enough
for now and ever
The arena pays your bills
fuels your spirit
Or
Both if you have that kind of fortune
Arenas seem scary when you are outside hearing the screams
But inner screams are more meaningful and frightening
For they awaken you from a slumber
To find yourself already arrived
Dead center of the life you did and did not create
So grab the arena by the doors
Open them wide
Step in and make it yours
